Celeb Events
Fashions of award shows and premieres.

Young, hip and ultra-chic, the clothes worn at the Teen Choice Awards often prove to be some of my favorite looks of the year. They are more wearable then the glamorous gowns of the golden globes or academy awards (jeans are even an option). This event was no exception, with young stars generally choosing fun, short frocks with tons of vintage-inspired charm.
Rachel Bilson looks great in Zac Posen, Rihanna continued her love of
bubble dresses, while Carmen Electra showed us that metallics are still hot.
Peep-toed shoes seemed to be on everyone's feet (see Sophia Bush, Christina Milian, Nelly Furtado, and Ashley Olsen), if you're dying for a pair you can't go wrong with these nude
Christian Louboutin Peep-Toe Sling-backs. Or, if you are looking for something trendy, the black
Marc by Marc Jacobs Velvet Peep-Toe Pumps are perfect for Fall, with their cute bow detail.
However there were a few
dreadful looks.
Is Zooey Dashchel in a flight attendant's uniform?
Another trend gone wrong, Mischa Barton in a ruffled-neck mini-dress. She looks like a clown!
Instead, get the look right with the
Lela Rose Gazarra Angel Wing Dress.
The many looks of
Jessica Simpson:
Most were dreadful! But her vintage, white, Claude Montana dress was a knockout.

For everyone that lives in the frigid north, you know that staying warm and looking good do not always go hand in hand. You also know that fashion is the last thing you’re thinking about when you set foot outside on those below-zero mornings.
Fortunately, we have smart celebs like Lucy Liu, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston to show us that winter wear doesn’t have to leave us looking like a Michelin Man (something I was actually called by a well-meaning individual).

Here’s all you need to look like a celeb no matter how low the temperatures may drop:
A puffy jacket:
Whether going skiing or traveling to a frigid destination, these puffy jackets will never go out of style because they’re the only coats that really keep you warm. You know how celebs hate to be uncomfortable (I know I do!), so it’s no wonder they're all wearing these to stay cozy.
Overstock.com
and
amazon.com
have designer jackets at amazing, discounted prices!
Check these out:
The
Steve Madden Hooded Down Jacket ($89.99, 35% off)
is a great match for Lucy Liu’s cute fur-collared look.
The
Paul Smith Puffa Jacket ($180, reg. $300) mimics Jennifer Aniston’s black style.
The
Ten West Hooded Jacket ($41.99)
is similar to Shannon’s Elizabeth’s, and what a great price!
A pair of white winter boots:
White is actually a hot color for winter! Boots are no exception, and these are sure to keep your feet warm and, more importantly, dry.
For Lucy Liu’s look, the
akademiks Blizzard boots ($148.95) are a perfect match.
The
Timberland Picudilla boots ($183.95)
are just like Shannon Elizabeth's.
A super-long scarf (stripes optional)
When it comes to scarves this season, it’s the longer the better. Stripes are the hottest look (see Eve, Shannon Elizabeth, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Lucy Liu and Robert Downey Jr.’s wife), but great monochrome ones are always in style (see Jennifer Aniston).
Try the
Stripe Cashmere Scarf by Kashmere ($74.99, 50% off)
(below) for this look, and don’t forget to check out the other great
cashmere scarves
available at amazon.com.
Celeb cold-weather fashion tragedy: Maggie Gyllenhaal
The problem with Maggie’s look? The jacket is too long and shapeless, very unflattering. How could she fix it? Add a belt or ribbon to create a waist!
