Celeb Styles: Cozy velvet is chic again.

Celebrities love velvet. Not only can it dress up any oufit, but it is so soft and warm which makes it perfect for fall and winter. I guess that's why it keeps coming back in style again and again.

Don't be afraid to buy an expensive velvet piece. They are worth it for the quality and even if it the look is not so hot next year, it won’t be long before people are drooling over this cuddly fabric again. The best colors for velvet are deep, dark jewel tones like red and purple (don't forget that black is always a classic.)

I would warn that it is very easy to get bad velvet, just look at the monstrosity worn by Kate Hudson. The pattern and shape are both not right for this look (it seems Kate has lost her fashion sense along with all of the fat on her body).

My advice would be to go with a more classic look for your velvet pieces. A big trend right now is the velvet jacket, which is perfect because it goes with everything. Jessica Simpson wears a classic velvet blazer in emerald green.
