Celeb Styles: Warm up with a celeb-worthy coat this winter.

I don’t know about you but winter is here all I can think about is getting myself a celeb-worthy coat to warm myself up with! With so many different shapes, lengths, trends, and fabrics I just can’t decide which one to get. So I have created this guide of three of the hottest celebrity trends in outerwear to help you (and me) decide which jacket would suit us best...

The Toggle Coat

This type of jacket is very hot right now. Celebs are wearing it in both knee-length and short styles (see Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Lopez below). Remember, if you wear a knee-length coat with a skirt or dress, make sure it is no more then four inches longer then your jacket. Short jackets can be great for petite ladies- long ones often make you look shorter.

If you want to get Jessica Simpson's plaid toggle coat by Juicy Couture, go to Net a Porter($350, also featured in Lucky Magazine, December 2005).

The Marc New York 'Natasha' coat ($299, reg. $500) is almost an exact match for J Lo's (too bad it isn't white too).

Another celeb in a toggle jacket:

The Belted Trench

This is more of a classic, sophisticated style (shown below on Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker). The belt will define your waist, making you look svelte even under bulky winter clothes. Celebs usually wear this style long but some knee-length coats look great too.

When I saw Sarah Jessica Parker in this coat I instantly wanted one just like it. You can get the Celine Double-Faced Wool Coaticon online, but it comes with a hefty price tag of $1,950 (which is a sale from it's original price of $3,250)(above, right).

This Burberry Prorsum Wool Trench Coat ($1437, reg.$2395) is a beautiful coat (above right), you can buy it online at Net a Porter (go to their sale section). But if you want to find something less expensive the J & M Davidson cropped trench (below) sold at Net a Porter is on sale for only $280 (reg.$580)!

The Shawl-Collar Coat

To get Angelina's look (above), try the Calvin Klein Shawl Collar Coat ($325, above right), which is available in black. You can also get a similar look with the Kenneth Cole New York Trenchcoat ($279, below).
